President of Foundation for Economic Education to speak in Forum Jan. 12
Lawrence W. Reed, President, Foundation for Economic Education will speak on “Liberty and Character: Two Sides of the Same Coin” in Bluffton University's Forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Founders Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
His thesis centers on the connection between liberty and character; without one the other is impossible. No people in history have lost their character and retained their liberties. Reed will explain this assumption through the use of real stories of people who have led inspirational lives.
Reed became president of FEE in 2008 after serving as chairman of its board of trustees in the 1990s. He has written and spoken for FEE since the late 1970s. His columns have appeared in USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. He has also been featured on radio shows and television shows such as “Fox Business News.”
