A evening of spiritual songs and soul food at the university
Dr. Naima Johnston-Bush will perform, “Spiritual Songs,” at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Johnston-Bush will use multimedia to create a musical adventure that explores the Negro spiritual as a historical American art form. She will sketch the history of this expression of faith through music from the 1600s to the present.
Prior to this engaging musical event, a dinner consisting of soul foods from around the globe will be available for purchase in The Commons at Marbeck Center. Dinner is available from 5-7 p.m. The cost of the meal is $10.85 for adults and $6 for children.
