University spring instrumental concert Sunday at Yoder Recital Hall
Bluffton University’s 2017 Spring Instrumental Concert will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The concert, under the direction of Dr. Roy Couch, director of bands, will feature the Concert Band, wind chamber ensembles and a special combined piece.
The Concert Band will perform several pieces including an overture by Japanese composer Bin Kaneda. The chamber ensembles performing will be the Low Brass Ensemble, the Saxophone Quartet and the Flute Ensemble.
The combined piece is Ralph Vaughan Williams composition “O Clap Your Hands” featuring the brass and percussion sections of the Concert Band, the University Chorale and organ – performed by Dr. Lucia Unrau. The piece will be conducted by Dr. Mark Suderman.
