First graders discover that Bluffton rocks
Several photos with this story
are from the first graders'
Facebook Bluffton OH rocks
Don't be surprised to find colorfully painted rocks on Main Street, and elsewhere in Bluffton.
It's all part of a project of Megan Quinton's first graders.
Quinton told the Icon that her students are discovering that Bluffton “rocks.” And, they invite Icon viewers to make this discovery also.
This discovery, in part is, due to their working very seriously on being kind to one another during the school year.
She describes the process this way:
“We call each act of kindness a bucket filler and students are rewarded for doing things that make each other smile.
“During SMART week, last week, we've talked about how we can share kindness outside of our classroom.
“We painted rocks and put a logo on them encouraging anyone who finds them to visit a Facebook page we created.
“Our rocks are hidden around town. We would love for the community to share by painting and hiding rocks and posting to our Facebook page Bluffton OH Rocks.”
On that Facebook, visitors will find this message:
“Did you find a decorated rock?
“If you did, you are in the right place! Please post a picture of the rock you have found and then hide again.
“Want to join? Please do! Decorate rocks and hide for fun!
“Spread Kindness! This project was started by Mrs. Quinton's 2017-18 first grade class. Enjoy!”
