Calling all chili lovers
A community chili cook-off is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, in the middle school. It benefits the Bluffton Community Assistance Program’s food pantry, according to Lynda Best.
The Bluffton Presbyterian Church mission committee sponsors the event. Last year was the first cook-off.
Best needs volunteers to assist. Volunteers are needed to cook and serve chili (there will be a people’s choice competition), organize donations and concession sales, assist with set-up and tear-down and to promote and attend the event.
Members of the public are invited to make chili for the event. Those people should contact Best by Friday, Feb. 8. To confirm a chili entry call one of the following: Lynda Best at 419-296-2790, Carole Enneking at 419-348-7691, or Pastor Karol Farris at 419-358-5806.
At last year’s cookoff eight different chili recipes were available for tasting during the event.
