Pantasia Steel Band performs at MMH on August 27
The Pantasia Steel Band will play at a free concert at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27 at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton. Bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on and dress for the weather.
The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service Group will serve Bluffton Dari Freeze ice cream, compliments of the Bluffton Dari Freeze.
Special thanks go to Everence, which is sponsoring the concert. MMH has hosted the annual “Concert on the Lawn” since 2005.
In case of heavy rain, the concert will be cancelled. Visit the MHCO Facebook page the day of the concert at facebook.com/MHCOhio/ for updated information.
Since their inception in the spring of 1997, Pantasia has garnered an impressive reputation as an educational and entertaining instrumental music ensemble. They are always in high demand, averaging over 40 performances a year.
Of all the musical instruments in the world there seem to be few that can compare to the unique qualities of the steel drum. Originated in Trinidad, the steel drum is virtually an “infant” among musical instruments, having had its creation and evolution occur only since 1945.
