Pirate football blasts Toledo Bowsher
Giesige throws for 6 TDs

TOLEDO__The visiting Bluffton High School football team hammered non-league foe Toledo Bowsher 54-21 on Friday, September 5.
The Pirates improved to 3-0 with the lopsided road victory, while the Blue Racers fell to 0-3 with the defeat.
Bluffton junior quarterback Tayte Giesige tossed six touchdown passes and completed all 15 of his pass attempts for 305 yards to lead the victors.
Giesige threw a pair of touchdowns each to Kain Wright, Blayne Hill and Ethan Sprunger.
Bluffton raced to a 35-0 halftime lead and never was threatened.
Jackson Bowlus rushed for 40 yards and a one-yard TD plunge.
Hill pulled in five receptions for 179 yards, including an 80-yard TD reception in the second stanza that extended the lead to 35-0.
Both of Wright’s receptions went for TDs, one for 29 yards while the other covered 27 yards.
Sprunger caught an 18-yard scoring aerial to start the scoring, and then added a six-yard TD catch in the third period.
Lleyton Miller returned a kickoff 91 yards to paydirt to close the Pirate scoring assault in the third stanza.
TB scored all three of their TDs in the third quarter, highlighted by a 67-yard scoring scamper.

Stats and notes
Bluffton rolled up 377 yards on just 32 plays, including 305 through the air and 72 on the ground.
The Pirates averaged 11.8 yards per play.
The Blue Racers amassed 262 yards on 52 plays, an average of 5.0 yards per snap.
Bluffton compiled 16 first downs compared to 14 chain-movers by Bowsher.
Bowsher committed four turnovers, including three fumbles.
Both teams committed four penalties.
NWC opener in week 4 vs. Delphos
Bluffton hosts Delphos Jefferson (1-1) in a week four Northwest Conference lidlifter on Friday, September 12.
DJ lost 41-7 to Evergreen in the season opener, then beat Parkway 26-14 in week two. On Saturday night, the Wildcats hosted Paulding (2-0).
