Katie Heinze, a Bluffton High School senior, won first place in all five classes she entered in this year’s Allen County Junior Fair horse contests.

From June's 8th annual charitable golf scramble

Bluffton American Legion Post 382 distributed $7,400 from proceeds of its 8th annual charitable golf scramble to 14 organizations earlier this week.

The next PrimeTimers event is Tuesday, Sept. 5.

It features the music of the Morse Family Gospel Singers. The meal will include fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, coleslaw, dinner roll and cake.
There is no cost, but donations are accepted. For more info, call 419-358-1015, ext. 102.

PrimeTimers is a non-denominational, community fellowship gathering for adults 55 and over hosted at St. John Mennonite Church in Pandora.
 

Student was located after running away from school

Life Flight of Bluffton was used earlier today in a Hardin County Sheriff's Office search for a Hardin Northern school student.

According to the sheriff's office, that office was contacted by the Hardin Northern Schools regarding a child who ran away from the school building.The child ran into a large cornfield north of the school property.

An initial search of the immediate area was conducted and the child was not able to be located.

The fifth annual Regional Auto Growth Summit will be held Friday, Sept. 8, in the Keese Hall Multipurpose Center at Rhodes State College, 4240 College Drive, Lima. This year’s theme is: Transportation: Driving Employment.
 
The event begins at 9: a.m. with registration and networking. The program will start at 9:30 a.m. and include these featured speakers:
