David Voth, Elisha Bush, and Ryn Farmer of Bluffton are advocating for Issue 1's passage on the November Ohio ballot.  They are also leaders in the local Crime Victim Services agency.

The photo is of Voth speaking at the kick-off of Issue 1 at the Ohio Statehouse along with the founder of MADD Ohio, Andrea Rehkamp, and Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien.  Voth and Rehkamp were Co-Chairs of the first Ohio constitutional amendment for victims rights passed by Ohio voters in 1994 by a 78% margin.

A Bluffton Halloween story from the 1890s

Editor’s note: This story sounds like a worn-out urban legend. The problem is that this happened to the grandfather of the guy who told me the story.

Is Bluffton haunted?

No. Or, maybe. Well, yes, but, there’s no such thing.

It’s late October. For a moment, let’s say it is haunted. Perhaps this short, unexplained story that took place in Bluffton in the 1890s will assist in your decision-making.

An elderly Bluffton gentlemen told this to me in 1978. The incident took place on North Main Street, just across the bridge over Riley Creek.

Peter Suter of Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn: "The project, nearly two years in the making, is part of Shirley’s continuing commitment to reading."

Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Company will release a free original illustrated children’s book this November, created by a local author and award-winning illustrator, CEO Pete Suter announced.

Blame Gary Crawfis on this one. Gary saw this sign in Beavercreek and, of course, took a photo of it and sent it to Bluffton's Denny Morrison.

Denny, of course, sent a copy to the Icon. While a Denny Morrison in Beavercreek is running for school board, it's not Bluffton's Denny Morrison.

Even so, it's eye-catching, especially in Bluffton.

Four persons are on the Bluffton school board ballot on Nov. 7. They are: Brad Fruchey, Debb Herr, Ken Lugibihl and Wes Klinger.

Denny Morrison is not on the Bluffton ballot.

Sean  Burrell is one of 10 candidates for Bluffton council on Nov. 7. The Icon's interview with him follows. To read interviews with each of the candidates click here.

Why are you seeking a seat on the council and why should someone vote for you?
I am seeking reelection because I enjoy it and think I bring a no nonsense viewpoint to the issues.
