Dr. Yoder, chair of the mechanical engineering department, has been appointed dean of the ONU engineering college.

Tom Schaaf of Bluffton will share stories and photos of his trip to Cuba with the Bluffton Lions. The meeting is at noon, Tuesday, May 2, in the town hall.

This year the foundation awarded a top Bluffton High School tutor with a $400 gift. That student is Ceandra Thurmond, a BHS senior. Here's the S.O.S. story:

But, for Bluffton fourth and fifth graders and their high school tutors, it means Students for Other Students (SOS).
“This peer-tutoring program is an important part of our intervention services,” says Tim Closson, elementary principal.
This school year 20 high school students tutored 17 fourth and fifth grade students.

The demonstrations on the 17th were given by Ceandra Thurmond, Addison Businger and Dylan Hohenbrink.
Jamie Nygaard, Bluffton photographer, had a photograph chosen to be in the Spring ArtSpace Gallery, Lima, which opens this week.
Nygaard entered two pieces. The one chosen to be in the gallery is called "Veiled Silence" and is the photo taken that she used in her calendar in the month of November.
Herother piece was not selected to be in the Spring Gallery, but is on show upstairs as it did qualify for the "Salon de refuses."
Opening reception is Friday, April 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at ArtSpace. Awards for individual pieces will be handed out at the reception.
Four Bluffton students will perform with the Lima Area Youth Orchestra on Sunday, April 23. The 7 p.m. concert is at Lima Senior High School.

The performance will be under the direction of Travis Juergen, Assistant Professor at Ohio Northern University. Juergen is very successfully finishing his first season with the orchestra which is sponsored by the Lima Noon Optimist Club and the Lima Symphony Orchestra.
