Allen East High School is the Region 5 winner of the 2016 National Red Ribbon Photo Contest.
Students, faculty and staff were led by teacher and SADD advisor, Kelly Prichard, in decorating the school with this year’s theme, “YOLO. Be Drug Free.”
This was done in addition to the school’s traditional Red Ribbon Week (Oct. 23-31) celebrations to promote their commitment to living a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
Eli Bourassa is November's Bluffton High School student of the month.
Eli is a senior at BHS and has a 3.821 grade point average. Eli is a member of the BHS marching, pep and concert bands and is the BHS band secretary. He attends St. John Mennonite Church and is involved in its youth group and worship team.
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) is joining thousands across the world who promote #GivingTuesday on Tuesday Nov. 29., according to Daren Lee.
Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world.
"We invite you to support MHCO this season and make a gift in memory or honor of an elder who has been an influence in your life," said Lee.
Mobile Meals of Bluffton is looking for volunteer drivers to deliver meals, according to Erin Schroeder, volunteer coordinator at Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio.
"A driver is needed on the second Thursday and another driver is needed on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Meals are delivered only in the Bluffton community and delivery typically takes 30 minutes," she said.
"Delivering Mobile Meals is a practical, volunteer project that helps people in our community," she added.
