PAPA NO1 - The Icon spotted this Hancock County plate on Bluffton's Main Street on a gold Chevrolet van.

Interstate 75's far right lane southbound and the southbound entrance and exta ramps at Hancock County Road 99, U.S. 224 and State Route 12 will be closed Monday, Oct. 2, frpom 9 a.m. until 7 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The announcement was made by ODOT.

Here's a wish list of needed items

The Bluffton Area Food Pantry has distributed food and other essential supplies to approximately 50 area families this summer.

The pantry’s supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.

Item may be delivered to St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Six OVAL classes planned

Aaron Antrim from Life Flight, Bluffton, is the featured speaker at the Bluffton Senior Citizens October dinner meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9. Tickets are $8 and need to be purchased by Oct. 4, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

Six Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) classes take place in October:

• Monday, Oct. 2 – 9:30 a.m. – Bob Minto, artist, presents a pottery demonstration

• Thursday, Oct. 5 – A trip to historic Roscoe Village, Coshocton. Bus leaves Bluffton at 7:15 a.m.

2017-18 campaign fliers in the mail

Bluffton, Beaverdam and Richland Township United Way fell shy of its 2016-17 goal, according to Neil Reichenbach.

“We wrapped up our 2016-17 campaign on Aug. 30. Our goal was $26,000,” he said. “We raised $23,722.”

He added that the United Way is hopeful to increase its 2017-18 campaign goal to $26,500 to be able to make up the recent short fall.
