BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls softball team was seeded ninth at the 13-team Elida Div. IV district tournament drawing Sunday.
Ninth seed Bluffton (4-11) plays at sixth seed Leipsic (7-7) Monday, May 10 in first round action.
The Pirate girls beat the Vikings 5-1 April 30 but were ranked lower due to a lesser record. The winner will then play at second-seeded Lima Central Catholic Thursday, May 13.

ADA - The Bluffton boys handily won a triangular track and field meet with host Ada and Ft. Jennings Tuesday evening at warm and windy War Memorial Stadium.
Bluffton won the boys meet easily with 104.5 points. Ada was a distant second with 36, followed by FJ in third at 28.5.
Ada captured first in the girls meet with 73.5 points. Bluffton was second (57.5) and Ft. Jennings came in third (39).

BLUFFTON - Bluffton's scheduled non-conference softball game vs. Cory-Rawson was postponed Tuesday evening.
Low Hornet roster numbers due to injury and illness caused the cancellation, and the game will not be made up.
Bluffton (3-10, 2-4 Northwest Conference) resumes league play Thursday at Columbus Grove (8-7, 1-3 NWC). Grove crushed Continental 17-1 Tuesday evening.
The Pirate girls then host future NWC member Leipsic (7-5) Friday, April 30 and visit Arlington (3-9) for a non-league doubleheader Saturday, May 1.

ADA - The Bluffton tennis team won both doubles matches but lost overall 3-2 at Northwest Conference rival Ada on a warm Monday evening at the resurfaced purple and gold park courts.
The Bulldog netters evened their record at 6-6 with the victory, while the Pirates fell to 2-6 with the defeat. It was Ada's fourth win in five matches over the past eight days.
The Bulldogs and Bluffton are the only two NWC schools that field boys tennis teams.

BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton run-ruled visiting Spencerville 10-0 in a Northwest Conference softball mismatch Monday evening.
The Lady Pirates improved to 3-10 and 2-4 in the NWC after the shutout win. The Bearcat girls fell to 1-13 overall and 0-3 in the NWC with the defeat.
Bluffton scored two runs in the first inning and one in the second to build an early 3-0 lead. The Pirate girls put the game out of reach with four runs in the third frame, and then tacked on three more in the fourth.

DEFIANCE - The Bluffton track and field teams competed at the 18-school Diller Invitational hosted by Defiance Ayersville Saturday.
The Pirate boys came in eighth out of 15 squads. Columbus Grove captured the boys title with 140.33 points to beat Minster by 12 points. Bluffton tallied 33 points.
