Phyllis Adkins-Osborne, 84, died March 26, 2018, at the Betty House of Willow Ridge in Bluffton. 

Services will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. 

Visitation will be Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Bluffton council set several committee meetings at its Monday meeting. Those meetings follow and all meetings are in the town hall unless otherwise noted.

Presentation open to the public at Maple Crest

Author Myrna Grove will be the featured speaker at the Swiss Community Historical Society (SCHS) spring meeting at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 8.

Her talk, "Legacy of One-Room Schools" will be held in the patio room at Maple Crest, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton. The event is free and open to the public; donations are welcome.

As an elementary school teacher for the Bryan City Schools, Grove enjoyed re-enacting the one-room school experience with her students at area one-room schools. 

The following work will affect traffic within Hancock County. All work is weather permitting.

Interstate 75 near the county Road 95/Bigelow Avenue overpass, Findlay, will be temporarily affected overnight Wednesday, March 28, into the early morning hours of Thursday, March 29, during the installation of a fiber optic line over the travel lanes.

Deadlocked in a 0-0 pitching duel, junior Katie Prater lifted a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh.  Classmate Averey Rumer came home for the go ahead run.  

Sophomore Libby Schaadt pitched 7 scoreless innings, giving up just four hits along the way.  Kayla White had a hit and two stolen bases for Bluffton.  Rumer also had a hit along with the game winning run.

Opening season auditions

A new choral organization has come to Ada and surrounding towns. Noteworthy Community Choir is extending auditions to April 11 for both Ada and Lima locations of Voices - ages 8 - 18, and for Expressionsin Ada - ages 13 - 88+. Singers from Ada, Alger, Bluffton, Forest, Jenera, Kenton, and Lima have auditioned. "We would love to hear you!," sais Vicki Mills.
