Icon carries Dari Freeze menu

Spring officially arrived in Bluffton this week.

The Bluffton Dari Freeze opened for the season.

Spring hours are:
• Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sunday 3 to 10 p.m.

During the summer, hours extend to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Bill Marchal, owner, reminds patrons to watch the signs for special events and menu specials.

The business, at 595 S. Main St., a Bluffton landmark for over 65 years, accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card.

April 4 in Yoder Recital Hall

Mennonite pastor Paula Snyder Belousek will discuss a past bishop’s response to the Civil War in a speech titled, “John’s Dilemma: A Mennonite Bishop Wrestles with Suffering in a Time of War,” during Bluffton University’s Spiritual Life Week Forum on Tuesday, April 4. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. in Bluffton’s Yoder Recital Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Goshen College professor is the speaker

Dr. Ann Hostetler, professor of English, Goshen College, Goshen, Ind., will present her speech titled, “Conflict and Creativity: Shunning and its Legacy in Amish and Mennonite Communities,” on Tuesday, April 4 at 11 a.m. in Stutzman Lecture Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

10 a.m. sharp, rain or shine

The Easter Bunny is coming to Bluffton.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and Jerry Lewis’ McDonald’s host their annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

The Easter egg hunt takes place come rain or shine. There is no rain date. Children ages 8 and under are invited to come, hunt for hidden eggs, register for prizes, gift baskets and have their parents take their pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Doughnuts are donated by Community Markets and hot beverages will be provided by MHCO.
