Help! Friday at 3 p.m.
A volunteer coalition of Bluffton residents will post the Ream Holiday Folk Art Display cutouts on the Presbyterian Church lawn starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, according to Lynda Best, who is working on the project.
The set-up is part of the Bluffton Cultural Affairs Committee, but with last January’s retirement by Terry Mullenhour, who chairs the committee, no replacement was made by the village.
“Because of a forecast of 100 percent chance of rain on Saturday, we will start at 3 p.m. on Friday,” she told The Icon. “We will try to finish Saturday, weather permitting.”
She urged anyone interested in helping with the set-up to join her group on Friday.
Other Blaze of Lights developments
Paula Scott, interim director of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, provided the Icon with several Blaze updates:
• Look for the Blaze on the electronic billboard on State Route 103, courtesy of Giesken Outdoor Advertising.
• The Lima News will publish a Blaze story in the 360 magazine on Friday, Nov. 24.
• The Bluffton News will send a Blaze of Lights tab including extensive coverage and advertising.
• The Bluffton Icon will provide easy electronic access to all Blaze updates and information.
• Our parade coordinator, Junior Weihrauch, is distributing posters in several surrounding communities and will be on WKXA Radio.
Scott said, “If you would like a poster they are available at the town hall.
