Ada HS grad didn't build a better mousetrap, instead is created a mousetrap video viewed 100 million times

FROM ADA ICON - Ada native Chris Wire didn’t build a better mousetrap. He didn’t have to.

Instead, he did create 30-second mousetrap video, viewed, oh, perhaps 100 million times. You’ve no doubt viewed it yourself.

Chris, a 1989 Ada High School graduate and son of Keith and Kathy Wire, owners of Keith’s Hardware, is principal owner of Real Art, a technology and design agency in Dayton. 

He says that prior to attending the University of Dayton he worked at Keith’s Hardware practically every day and weekends since he was born and all the way through high school.

John Bowers going to Ada

Served as a Bluffton employee for over 20 years; will operate Ada's drinking water plant

After 20 years working within several positions in the Village of Bluffton, John Bowers, has accepted the position of operator of the Village of Ada water plant.

He begins his new position in the neighboring village on Monday.

Since 2013 he has served as Bluffton’s waste water treatment plant operator. Bluffton’s plant handles over one-half million gallons of treated water on an average day, under Bower’s oversight.

“I started working for the village when I was 19,” said Bowers, a 1999 Bluffton High School graduate.

Naomi Basinger celebrates 101st birthday

Lifelong Bluffton resident now lives at Hilty Home

Naomi Basinger blew out 101 candles on her birthday on April 16. The lifelong  Bluffton resident now lives at Hilty Home, Pandora.

Here's a photo from a short vido clip of her blowing a kiss to Icon viewers.

Naomi was born April 16, 1919, in Lafayette, to Harry E. and Chloe (Williams) Shrider. She married Orville Basinger on July 13, 1940. Orville died on Jan. 25, 1998. Naomi had worked at Westinghouse, Lima, and retired from Triplett.

Mark Sommers wins Icon's mask contest

On a random drawing of all contestants who sent the Icon photos of themselves wearing masks, the winning entry drawn is Mark Sommers. He wins a 1-item, 14 -inch Padrone's Pizza.

The contest had over 30 entries.
