CONTACT US NOW

Every summer, our library’s goal is to encourage people of all ages to read and continue learning throughout every stage of their lives.  Our theme this summer has an emphasis on supporting a healthy body, mind and spirit, and we’ve titled this theme: “Our Library, Our Community: Healthy Together.”

Fred:

LOVED the ideas in your "How to Succeed in Bluffton..." speech/article. I've always considered Bluffton "the little town that could."

If your article this doesn't make a change-encourage involvement in how
Bluffton is promoted, then I'm not sure what will. I love my hometown!

Join the library for an End-Of-School event on May 27th at 3 p.m. as we screen Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PG-13).

Permission forms are required for patrons under 18 (available at front desk and youth services desk) and children under the age of 8 will need to have a guardian (14+) with them.

This event is open to families and no registration is required.

A FREE, fun workshop* for all parents, guardians, and other adults raising children from birth to 8 years old!

Learn about your child's behaviors and how to respond appropriately;
Learn how to prevent your child's difficult behaviors;
Learn how to use positive ways to discipline your child;
Learn how to reduce the impact of media violence on your child's behavior.

Please note: Due to the nature of this series, we ask that parents/guardians do not bring their children with them to this learning event.

Local musician Doug Adams will present “Peace, Love, and the Power of Song” on Monday, May 16 at 6 p.m. on BPL's main floor. Bring a friend and attend this FREE musical event!

How to succeed in Bluffton by really trying
Address presented by Fred Steiner
to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce on May 13, 2016

For the next 20 minutes let’s focus on:
 “How to succeed in Bluffton by really trying.”

Bluffton resident Inara Brubaker was awarded an honorary degree from Ohio Northern University, Ada, during the ONU commencement on May 8.

Brubaker retired in 2002 from the UOP/AlliedSignal (now Honeywell International) Research Center.

From 1996-2002, Brubaker was a senior research associate with UOP; from 1988 to 1996, she was project leader and research manager at AlliedSignal.

Her work was in applied research in analytical chemistry and separations, ranging from feed to effluent treatment and purification, and in materials properties and recycling.

Bluffton High School seniors and underclasses were recognized May 11 at the 36th annual high school awards program.

Awards were presented to senior receiving college scholarships, athletic awards and to students who were outstanding in individual classes.

A program listing all of the students recognized is an attachment at the bottom of this story.
