Bluffton Family Recreation's youth programming for Spring Session 1 starts Monday, March 4, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR director. The session runs to Friday, March 29.

As a team the Pirates finished fourth. Joining Nassar in Troy next week will be Kaden Basil, Josh Mehaffie, Tayton Kleman, Jeremy Sturgeon and Jackson Wilson. Landen Lugibihl, Dustin Mortimer and Elijah Conley all finished fifth and will be District alternates.
Three members of the Bluffton University men's basketball team were recognized when the Heartland Conference announced it post-season awards on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

Sophomore Dezman Brown (Elyria) has been named the first-ever Heartland Conference Defensive Most Valuable Player and along with that Honorable Mention All-HCAC. Andrew Renner (Cairo/Bath) and Isaiah Taylor (Yellow Springs) were also honored by the Heartland Conference coaches.
Grant Warner of Bluffton is on the Bluffton University dean’s list with distinction for the Organizational Management Program (OMP) for the fall term.
Students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 based on 20 semester hours received dean’s list with distinction for continued high achievement.
OMP is an accelerated degree-completion program that creates a dynamic, learning community of adults. Students who complete the bachelor’s degree program demonstrate commitment to personal development and professional advancement within the area of organizational management.
Mercy Health in partnership with Ohio Means Jobs will hold a hiring event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center auxiliary conference room, 718 W. Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS) has added advanced technology that will differentiate between essential tremor and parkinsonian syndromes (among other conditions). DaTscan is a radioactive injection into the patient’s bloodstream to help take pictures of areas of the brain with a special camera called a single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) camera.
A memorial service for Frances D. Scoles who died on Dec. 3, 2018, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bluffton.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and following the service at the church. Arrangements were entrusted with Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
The March presentation of the “Living through Loss” series will be held on Monday, March 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and titled “The Food & Mood Connection.”
This presentation will take place in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital located at 1900 S. Main St., Findlay.
