Second graders create African art
Bluffton second graders recently studied about African Kente cloth. These include geometric patterns that carries specific meaning. The second graders created their own Kente patterns by painting and stamping geometric shapes and patterns. They then wove the paper together using methods similar to the traditional Kente artists. Examples of the second graders' art is in the display window in the elementary lobby. The work above is by Alayna a student in Mrs. Fry's class.
