Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Plantae there lived a crane flower - also known as Bird of Paradise. Whichever name you know this plant by, a rather one grows in the Bluffton University greenhouse. The Icon found it in full bloom in February.
January's Bluffton High School student of the month is Christopher Harnish, a junior.
Christopher is treasurer of the Junior class, and is a member of Show Choir, the Academic Team, Spanish Club, Math Club and Running Club. He is also a member of the track team and the soccer team. He was named to the NWC second team for soccer this year.
He has received academic awards from his teachers in World History, Spanish I, Spanish III, Algebra II, Advanced Math, Science 9 and English 9.
In his spare time he enjoys learning to play the guitar.
