Music duo performs Friday in Town Hall Concert Series
Mennofolk musicians Heather Kropf and Keith Hershberger with their band, Too Tall Americaons, will perform at the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series (third floor of the Bluffton town hall) at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 22. Food will be available at 7 p.m.
Formed by Pittsburgh singer/songwriters Keith Hershberger (guitar, vocals) and Heather Kropf (piano, vocals, kazoo), the Too Tall Americanos are an indie folk-pop duo with a fondness for vocal harmonies and thoughtful lyrics and melody.
Their music has been described as 'instantly appealing' and blends Hershberger's Americana-tinged folk rock roots with Kropf's piano-driven pop sensibility. Although performing together for years, the pair officially formed in 2008 with the release of a self-titled EP. Since then they have played shows and festivals throughout the region, from western Michigan to New York City.
According to Wendy Chappell Dick: "Keith and Heather been unofficially making music as a duo for well over a decade now, and have been featured at Mennofolk festivals together and as individuals. Their songwriting styles are really different, but when they sing and play on each other's work a new sound emerges which they describe as, sort of a coffeehouse pop thing.”
Steve Dettinger, Volunteer Market Coordinator, Main Street Farmers' Market, Washington, Pa, says of the two: "Heather and Keith put on a wonderful show at the Main Street Farmers' Market. Their interplay of keyboard, guitar, and vocals was skillful, even subtle, and their music was instantly appealing. Both customers and vendors were delighted and I was asked more than once if they were coming back again for another day. We have had many fine acts appear at the Market, but none better than Heather Kropf and Keith Hershberger (Two Tall Americanos)."
Donations are accepted at the door.
