McDonald's cookies that care returns to support local Ronald McDonald House Charities
During the month of December, McDonald's restaurants in Lima, Bluffton, Ada, Delphos, Van Wert, and Beaverdam will raise money in support of the local Ronald McDonald House Charities in Dayton through the Cookies That Care program. Customers may purchase three soft baked cookies for one dollar ($1.00), and McDonald's will donate ten cents of each purchase to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley Region. McDonald's will be offering a Sugar Cookie this year, in addition to the classic Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin.
Funds raised through Cookies That Care will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley. Since 1980, the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton has provided a home-away-from-home for families with hospitalized children. These children are treated for a number of different conditions such as premature birth, surgery, cancer, injury, and infection. "We are delighted to once again offer our Cookies That Care program for the fifth year. This program allows for our customers to enjoy holiday treat and also our local Ronald McDonald House Charities," said Jeremy Hamilton, President, McDonald's Restaurants of the Miami Valley.
Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and the Sugar Cookie soft baked cookies will be available during the program. Since its inception in 2010, the Cookies That Care program has raised more than $55,000 in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
According to Rita Cyr, Chief Executive Officer at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley Region, "Cookies That Care is one of the many ways McDonald's Owner/Operators and residents in our region support the Ronald McDonald House Charities throughout the year. We sincerely appreciate all they do for us at the Ronald McDonald House."
