Saturday’s in Bluffton become busy in the summer. This Saturday is no exception. The town will even close Main Street from Cherry to the Farmers’ Market for a specail event.

With a day like this, why leave town? Here’s the list of activities:

Carnival games, children’s’ activities, and buy-one-get-one specials will highlight Shirley’s Birthday Celebration.

Krysti’s Music Studio art show and open house
• Krysti’s Music Studio invites Icon viewers to its 2017 art show and open house from 10 a.m. to noon.

The show is at the music studio at 334 S. Main St.  In addition, Libby Brodman will have a LuLa Roe pop-up boutique.

This year’s show features art work of students Lena Brown, Jordyn Garmatter, Owen Kohli, Ella Krupp and Ayla Tabler. The students will present projects they have completed throughout the year.

In addition, there will be a musical scavenger hunt and small prizes for all youth who attend.

Live musical entertainment takes place during the open house and teachers will be present to provide more information about music and art lessons.

Friends of the Library 5-K Run/Walk for Literacy
There’s still time to enter this year’s event – the fourth annual. The run/walk starts at 9 a.m. on College Avenue in front of Bluffton High School. Race day packets may be picked up at the library’s lower level beginning at 8 a.m.

Race age groups are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over. Awards go to the overall top male and female finisher. Medallions are awarded to the top male and female in each age division. Registration is $20.

Swiss Homestead open to the public

Each Saturday this summer the Bluffton Pandora Swiss Community Historical Society opens the Schumacher Homestead for self-guided or docent led tours from 1 to 5 p.m.
