Blended Roots is newest BACC member
As the newest chamber member, Blended Roots manager Katelyn Gainok introduced herself and the art and craft consignment store she manages to Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) members at the December 10 meeting.
Gainok said the store’s purpose is to provide a fun shopping experience and to “bring out creativeness in the community.”
Blended Roots opened in September 2021 in the large retail space at 246 Cherry St that was formerly the Riley Creek Mercantile. Gainok reported that she currently has 110 vendors bringing their wares from an area spanning Dayton to Toledo. Vendors range in age from 23 to 85 years old and the cost of items ranges from $1 to $500.
The shop also has opportunities in December for others to get creative as well. When the Icon stopped by, children were making candy cane wreaths with the help of Julia Keiser. The large workshop area includes a special children's space with little tables and chairs.
From 1:00-3:00 p.m. on December 18, a candle wax art workshop will be held for all ages (adults or children with adult supervision). Participants will make their own candle from shaved, scented and colored wax. The technique is like sand art. The cost is $3-11. Santa will also be at Blended Roots that afternoon.
