BHS girls soccer swamps Allen East

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team dominated visiting local league rival Allen East in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday evening, September 20.
The win upped the Pirate record to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in NWC play, while the Mustang girls fell to 5-4-1 and 0-3 in NWC play with the defeat.
The game was scoreless until the 16th minute when Pirate Sami Scoles scored on a pass from Aubrey Burkholder.
Marley Kindle then netted a goal on a feed from Jasi Crawfis. An AE own goal extended the lead to 3-0.
Kindle tallied her second goal on a dish from Jordan Schweingruber for a four-goal margin.
Riley Eachus then scored on an assist from Karson Hauenstein in the 29th minute to give the Pirates a 5-0 bulge at intermission.
Allison Diller tallied the last goal in the 55th minute to make it 6-0.
The Pirate girls directed 14 of their 41 shots on goal. The Mustangs put three of their six shots on goal.
Pirate goalkeeper Julia Mehaffie made three saves, while AE keeper Nikki Thaxton was credited with nine stops.
The Pirates are tied for first in the league with Columbus Grove.
Bluffton entertains Delphos Jefferson (3-4-1, 1-1 NWC) Thursday, Sept. 22.
