Bluffton volleyball sweeps Lancers

The Bluffton High School volleyball team defeated visiting Lincolnview 25-20, 25-18, 25-13 in a Northwest Conference match Tuesday evening, October 3.
The Pirates improved to 15-4 overall and 4-2 in the NWC with the win.
Lincolnview dropped to 10-8 overall and 3-3 in the NWC after the defeat.
The Lancers and Bluffton came into the match tied for third with Allen East. The Pirates now occupy sole possession of third in the league after AE and Lincolnview lost Tuesday.
Crestview is first at 6-0, followed by Leipsic at 5-1.
Junior Ayla Grandey led the Pirates by slamming 19 kills and coming up with a pair of blocks.
Kendall Stackhouse knocked down 13 kills. Freshman Karlie Lora contributed six kills and a team-high three blocks.
Setter Gracie Yarnell passed out 32 assists and hustled up a dozen digs.
Libero Avery Talavinia mustered up 12 digs.
Morgan Fruchey dealt a pair of aces and made two blocks.
The Bluffton reserves also won, 2-0.
The Pirates (4-2 NWC) visit last-place league foe Spencerville (4-10, 0-5 NWC) Thursday night in their penultimate conference match.
