As a young girl, Meg Opperman came to Bluffton with her parents to attend movies at the Shannon Theatre, in the winter to view the Blaze of Lights and throughout the year for shopping.
On Saturday, the Lima resident became a Main Street business owner. She opened Wonderfully Made Boutique, housed in the front of the former Bluffton News storefront at 101 N. Main St.
The business offers women’s clothing, foot ware and accessories. And, with its soft opening on Saturday, the shop has had a steady stream of customers.
Bluffton electric customers received, at first glance, an ominous letter eariler this month from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of Northern Ohio.
For persons who took the time to open it, the letter stated that "you are receiving this notice because you may be a customers of FirstEnergy Solutions Corp."
First Energy provides Bluffton AEP customers with electricity and has filed for bankruptcy.
But, Bluffton council members say, "not to worry." The council plans to move ahead and contract for electric energy with the new company that replaces First Energy.

A Mom2Mom fall sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 15, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church gymnasium, 8905 Grove Road, Bluffton.
The event is sponsored by Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS). Admission is free. A bake sale by donation and non-perishable food collection for the Bluffton Communtiy Assistance food pantry will also take place.
Ohio Northern scored early and often in a sweep of the Bluffton University volleyball team on Sept. 11, just three days removed from a five-set affair between the close-in-proximity rivals at the Sommer Center Spiketacular. Bluffton dipped to 2-7 on the year, while #20 ONU improved to 7-2.
Down two sets to none and 22-16 in the third, sophomore Chelsey Taylor (Hicksville) took over at the service line and rattled off four consecutive points, including three aces, to pull the visitors within two points at 22-20.
