Want to learn to fly an aircraft?
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 636 hosts a Flying Start program at the terminal building on the Bluffton Airport on Saturday, May 11, at 9:30 am, according to Jason Stechschulte of the chapter.
“Many people are interested in airplanes and aviation, but are unsure how to get started or believe it is too expensive,” he said. “The flying start program educates and clears up common myths.”
A presentation and video is part of the program. It covers:
Who is EAA?
Why learn to fly?
What to fly?
What does it take to become a pilot?
Flight training process.
Flight instruction - meet local flight instructors.
Aircraft access.
Cost.
What is the next step?
If the weather cooperates chapter members will take participants up for an airplane ride to experience what it is like to fly an airplane. Donuts and coffee will be provided.
