“We opened and we are happy to be back!” was Chrissy Lugibihl’s greeting to the Icon shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

Lugibihl is manager of Bluffton’s iconic Et Cetera Shop, which closed for one week, giving its loyal customers the jitters during that period. While closed, the merchandise moved from 111 S. Main St. to the greatly-expanded location at 327 N. Main St.

A Sunday afternoon “sneak peek” raised $1,200 for Mennonite Central Committee, as shoppers were able to purchase $25 tickets for that event.

An official grand opening with a ribbon cutting is at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7.

Et Cetera has operated under the sponsorship of seven churches in the greater Bluffton-Pandora-Lima area for 42 years. It has 100 volunteers. The Et Cetera Shop, Inc., operates the Et Cetera Shop, Book ReViews and Ten Thousand Villages. Book Reviews and TTV will remain in their present locations on South Main Street.

Lugibihl said that the traditional 25 cent clothing won’t start immediately at the new location. However, One Dollar Mondays will return next week. The store accepts donations at its Washington Street loading dock.

The Et Cetera Shop is a thrift shop with a mission.  It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the ministries of Mennonite Central Committee, as well as the residents of Bluffton and the surrounding areas.

The Et Cetera Shop is one of over 50 thrift shops supporting the work of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).  MCC is a worldwide ministry of Anabaptist churches, shares God’s love and compassion for all by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice.

Lugibihl said to watch the store's Facebook for updates. One issue caused by relocation is that the shop's phone will not work until Thursday. That number, when working, is 419-358-4201.

Store hours:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursays 1 to 5 p.m.
Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Et Cetera’s goals:
To accept donations.
To go through and sort the donations as quickly as possible.
To recycle and repurpose when able.
To offer goods at a reasonable price.
To support the mission of MCC.
