Bluffton schools to receive $34,654 in safety grant
Bluffton schools will receive $39,654 in fiscal year 2020 from an Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation School Safety and Security Grant.
Grants were awarded up to $40,000 to help schools purchase equipment to improve safety and security and reduce the potential for injuries.
Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent told the Icon that the funds will go toward installation of some cameras for safety purposes and key fob access to all the buildings.
“The key fob access system will allow us to open and lockdown the building in a quick, automated manner,” he said.
Other area schools receiving grant money was Spencerville, $18,936; Apollo $34,641; and Allen East $33,554.
