Photo-story: Night at the Museum is a smash hit
The May 18 Night at the Museum hosted by Bluffton Middle School was a star-studded, high-drawing event, which featured students who selected a career, country or historical figure to study, dressed according to that topic, and created a poster presentation to share with visitors to the living museum.
The displays created rows around the middle school cafetorium and filling the gym. Friends, neighbors and families including younger siblings snaked their way past the displays.
Teacher Jackie Bourassa provides this note from her colleagues: "The teachers are very proud of the students for all of their hard work and their presentations last Wednesday. We were very pleased that it was so well attended, especially given our two-year hiatus due to Covid."
A selection of students provided the following insights. Let's begin with William Shakespeare:
"It takes a long time, but the end product is worth it. " Tate Steinmetz (William Shakespeare)
"It was nice to see all of our hard work pay off." Coby Daily (William Clark)
"I liked the comradery of everyone working together." Kizer Young (Christopher Colulmbus)
"All in all it was a very cool night." Amanda Zachrich (Queen Isabella of Spain)
"It was nice to see a lot of people there supporting your work." Ben Lovett (Ben Franklin)
"It was nice to have the community together supporting us. " Wilson Steiner (Sir Isaac Newton)
"It was nice to have people engage with our history of the past." Kate Klinger (Queen Elizabeth I)
"It wasn't as hard to present as I thought it would be. " Marshall McDonald (Sam Houston)
"I had a really good evening, and it makes me look forward to next year." Jesse Zemba (Mozart)
"My advice to younger students is to choose someone you really find interesting." Aaron Ungashick (Pythagoras)
"It may take awhile, but in the end it is worth it and amazing." KaileyMcGuire (Queen Victoria)
"I was slightly nervous, but now I am excited about next year." Damien Criblez (Prince Henry the Navigator)
