Friday is a road trip to Paulding

Two football teams looking for an identity squared off Friday evening at Harmon Field. 

Bluffton had soundly defeated Cory-Rawson to open the season but fell flat at Van Buren last week. Fort Loramie came to town with two close losses to perennial power Minster and defending state champion Fort Recovery.

D3football Team of Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior Jake Harmon (Van Wert/Crestview) has been named to the d3football.com Team of the Week following his standout performance in Bluffton's 37-31 win at Trine under the lights on Saturday, Sept. 10. It marks the fourth time in the past three years that a member of Coach Dorrel's defense has earned this recognition!

31st annual event sponsored by Ada Area Chamber of Commerce

FROM ADA ICON - Ada rolls out its red carpet on Saturday, Sept. 17, for the 31st annual Ada Area Chamber of Commerce Harvest and Herb Festival, according to David Dellifield, this year’s festival director.

The outdoor festival featuring over 150 booths.

Highlights:
• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – over 150 craft booths on Main Street
• 9 a.m. - ceremony in depot park for the renovated railroad caboose
• 10 a.m. – parade (from Ada school down Main Street to College)
    (parade forms at 9 a.m. at the Ada school)

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University standout MacKenzie McFarlin (Ashland) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after helping the Beavers to a 3-1 mark at the 4th annual Sommer Center Spiketacular. It marks her third career HCAC Player of the Week honor, including two as a sophomore in 2014.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior Dante Carroll (Gahanna/Lincoln) has been named the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week following Bluffton's win at Trine on Saturday night. He is the first Bluffton running back since Ben Dodds in 2005 to earn Player of the Week honors in the HCAC!

Bluffton High School boys' soccer team largely controlled the pitch in the Pirates’ match with Bath on the Wildcats field. Bluffton won 6-0.

Pandora-Gilboa High School celebrates its 2016 homecoming on Friday.

An assortment of contracts and staff adjustments will be addressed at Monday’s Bluffton school board meeting.

Certified teacher advancements to be considered (each one master to master plus 15) are for Todd Boblitt, Janelle Bogart, Kimberly Fritsch and Stephen Lemley.

Kaye Phillips will be offered a classified contract as an educational aide. The board will also act on the resignation of David Glick as an educational aide.

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Bluffton University football team took to the road as they faced the Trine University Thunder for just the third time in school history. A last-second hail mary by the Thunder was unsuccessful as the Beavers marched to a 37-31 win and 2-0 start to the season. It is the first time that Bluffton has defeated Trine and it is the first 2-0 start for the Beavers since 2004!.
