A holiday craft and vendor show is planned from 10 a.m. to 5  p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, in the Rawson Park Depot.

Vendors include, but are not limited to: Origami Owl, Usborne Books, Thirty-One, Angle Kiss Design, Believe in Fairy Magic, Damsel in Defense, Snowmen by Linda, Scentsy, Crafty Letters by Emily and Youngique.

The Bluffton High School guidance office will hold a financial aid meeting for parents and students (juniors and seniors) who plan to continue their education beyond high school.

The meeting is at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the high school library. Chris Fowler, financial aid director at Bluffton University, will make a presentation. He will discuss financial aid and filing the FAFSA form.

The Pride of Ada - the Pennsylvania Railroad caboose in the Ada depot park was renovated this summer. At 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, during Ada's Harvest and Herb Festival, the caboose will be re-christened. Here's the story of the caboose.

Its given name sounds like a phone number: Pennsylvania 477779.

It’s 75 years old and after a half-century of hard - all out-of-doors - work, it found Ada – or, Ada found it.

In this week's action, Shawnee defeated Bluffton in volleyball 3-0.

Scores were as follows: 9-25; 18-25; 16-25.

Lead hitter was Haley Baker with 8 kills and 26 attempts.
Lead blocker was Katie Prater with 6 blocks, Andi Schmutz with 5, and Jazmynn Wilson with 5.
Haley Baker also had 12 digs in the game.

 

Wapakoneta girls stopped Bluffton 4-1 in a tennis meet on Aug. 31.

Bluffton's win was in third singles as Lucie Fett defeated her opponent 6-1.

Ebenezer Mennonite Church hosts a weekend featuring Chapman "Chap" R. Clark, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9.

He is Associate Provost for Strategic Projects, Professor and Chair of Youth, Family, and Culture Department in the School of Theology at Fuller Seminary, Pasadena, Calif.

In a Saturday evening program, from 7 to 9 p.m., he will talk on Sticky Faith and Hurt 2.0: Nurturing the Long-Term Faith of Adolescents.

During the 9 a.m. Sunday school hour his theme is Adoptive Church: The Essence of Biblical Community.

Members of Bluffton’s class of 2020 were officially welcomed to the campus community during Opening Convocation on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

During August the average daily temperature was 76.1 degrees. The normal August average daily temperature is 71.1 degrees.

This year, August had 2.18 inches of rainfall. The normal August average is 3.28 in inches.

The high reading of the moth was 92 on Aug. 3 and again on Aug. 4. The low reading was 54 on Aug. 22.

ADRIAN, Mich. - Adrian College took down the Bluffton University men's soccer team 6-0 in the 2016 season opener for both teams. Adrian starts 1-0, while Bluffton stands 0-1 following Coach Kusak's first match at the helm.

The Bulldogs rolled to a 4-0 lead in the first 45 minutes before tacking on two more tallies for a 6-0 victory over the Beavers.
