Transition Bluffton will host a presentation on invasive plant species at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St.
Botanist Bob Antibus will talk and take questions about invasive plants in northwest Ohio. The event is free and open to the public.
Invasive plants are non-native species that can threaten our natural resources. Problems caused by invasive plants include crowding out of native Ohio plants, loss of suitable foods for area wildlife, and less plant diversity.
From Oct. 1 through Nov. 5, Bluffton University will host the traveling exhibit “Mirror of the Martyrs” in the Albrecht Gallery of Sauder Visual Arts Center. This dramatic and colorful exhibit tells the story of religious conflict and violence in the Reformation era from the perspective of Anabaptist martyrs and offers one way to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.

TIFFIN, Ohio -The Bluffton University men’s and women’s cross country teams trekked to Clinton Heights Golf Course for the “Tiffelberg Open” cross country invitational. The meet, a preview competition for the upcoming OAC championship in late October, brought together a high quality field of NCAA Division III regionally ranked teams as well as local Division II programs.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to visiting Baldwin Wallace on a sunny Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Sears Complex. The Yellow Jackets improved to 4-3, while the Beavers slipped to 1-4.
A Rachel Bender goal just 1:02 into the match put the Jackets on top. Bluffton held Baldwin Wallace at bay for the remainder of the half, but Bender got loose for three more tallies in the second period en route to the 5-0 final.

Baldwin Wallace netted three goals in each half before Dimitri Giakoumis (Mount Vernon) and Zach Ellison (Millbury/Lake) hit paydirt late in the match as the Beavers fell by a 6-2 margin.
The Bluffton University football team hit the road to face Mount St. Joseph in their first conference game of the 2017 season on Saturday, Sept. 16.
The Beavers would come out victorious in the end after a field goal by JORDAN WATKINS (Reynoldsburg) put Bluffton up 32-31 in the final 30 seconds. Bluffton moves to 1-2 (1-0 HCAC) after picking up its first win of the year while the Lions dropped to 1-2 (0-1 HCAC).

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team took down a talented Trine University squad in three sets on day one of the Bluffton Fall Classic. The home team evened its record at 5-5, snapping a four-match skid in the process. Trine slipped to 4-4 after falling in straight sets (25-19, 25-22, 25-20).
