Blanchard River Watershed Partnership public service announcement wins Regional Emmy
“Remember Me,” a public service film highlighting the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership, was awarded a regional EMMY award for best Community/Public Service video.
The award was presented at the Regional National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences gala in Lexington, Kentucky July 25.
"It was an honor to bring this regional EMMY home to Findlay,” said production company founder Ben Severance of Timber & Frame.
“The exciting thing about this project was that it wasn't made with any actors, just the real people of Findlay. We hope this video will remind the people of Findlay that quality of water equals quality of life. You can't have one without the other.”
The video was one component of a marketing campaign for the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership funded by a $30,000, two-year competitive grant from The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.
Community Foundation President Katherine Kreuchauf said, “We are delighted that we could play a small part in the production. The real winner is the Blanchard River Watershed.”
The goal of the video is awareness and education on the value of clean water in the watershed. Blanchard River Watershed Partnership Board Member Tim Brugeman said that message is vital.
“It was a great educational piece that so many people are benefitting from already,” said Brugeman. “The whole video was a fantastic effort on everyone’s part, both on the river and on the drawing board. It speaks well of the collaborative effort we’ve had not only to put the video together but for the clean water efforts we’re doing in our watershed. The video demonstrates that very well.”
Findlay Company A-R Marketing put together the “Remember Me” campaign. Principal of A-R Julie Anderson said, “The objective of creating awareness of those concerns was accomplished brilliantly in the video project. It tells an important story effectively and emotionally.
The collaborative efforts of BRWP, The Findlay Hancock County Community Foundation, Timber & Frame and AR Marketing are generating donations, grant funding and changes in the behavior of area residents.
