Betty High 1935 - 2021
Elizabeth J. “Betty” High, 85, died on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, at 2 a.m., surrounded by her family.
She was born on Oct. 31, 1935, in Deshler, Ohio, to the late Fredrick and Gertrude (Dibling) Britenriker. On Jan. 12, 1957 Betty married Clyde C. High and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2006.
Betty retired from Goodyear where she worked as a receptionist. She previously sold Avon and worked at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She is survived by three sons: Jeff High of Lima, Phil (Tammy) High of Lima and Scott High of Belle Center; three daughters: Cindy High of Ada, Julie (John) Forsyth of Ada and Debbie (Don) Anderson of Bluffton; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Haiven Hale; and two brothers: Fritz and Don Britenriker.
Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements. Face coverings must be worn while attending visitation and service.
Private family services will be held at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada, with Pastor Brandy Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery, Cairo.
The funeral service for Betty will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice, Lima.
