Five Bluffton Boy Scouts are involved in Eagle Scout projects this fall, according to Mike Metzger, Bluffton scoutmaster.

Metzger said that the requirements to achieve Eagle Scout include a series of advancements, the earning of at least 21 merit badges, and evidence of leadership skills.
The September Student of the Month at Bluffton High School is Sydney Hoff, daughter of Scott and Brigette Hoff of Bluffton. Sydney is a junior and is a 4.000 student.
Sydney is involved in marching band, concert band, pep band, jazz band, show choir , concert choir, math club, math team, Latin club, Spanish club, Art club, SADD club, National Honor Society, Allen Lima Leadership, Allen County Junior Fair board, Beaverdam Bunch 4-H club, Future Shepherds 4-H club, St. John Mennonite Church Youth group and is an AWANA children's K-2nd grade ministry leader.
Bluffton High School teachers Vickie Garmon and Brigette Hoff will lead a trip to London, Paris and the Alps and invite community members to participate.
The community is invited along with students entering the 9th grade and above as of 2018. The trip will take place in June of 2018.
"We will be having our first meeting Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. in Bluffton High School Please enter the College Street doors and go up the stairs to Room 303," said Garmon. "We lead a trip to Italy and Greece in June of this year. Here is a group photo of our trip."
The Allen County Visionaries will hold their annual dinner on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Shawnee Country Club. The Visionaries is the private arm of Allen County’s economic development efforts. The nearly 100-member companies and individuals provide half the funding of the Allen Economic Development Group.
