Jerry Marshall was retired Bluffton barber; served on village council
Jerry Lee Marshall, 73, died at 12:15 a.m. Dec. 20, 2012, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born August 22, 1939, in Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, to the late Frank “Pete” and Eva (Bame) Marshall.
On March 16, 1958, he married Saundra “Becky” Anspach at United Methodist Church, Forest, and she survives. They were married for 54 years.
Jerry worked at United Air Craft Products, Forest, prior to attending Toledo Barber College. He was a barber for 50-plus years. He was a member of County Line Church of the Brethren where he had served on the church board. He served eight years as a councilman for the Village of Bluffton.
Survivors also include two sons Bruce (Amy) Marshall of Bluffton, Mike (Angela) Marshall of Van Wert; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; three sisters, Regina Hougendobler; Nancy (Ray) Marshall of Forest, and Sally Jordan of South Carolina; and a son-in-law Shane W. Hale of Middlepoint.
A daughter Kelli Jean Marshall, a sister, Maxine Tracy, and a brother, Jimmy Marshall preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Revs. Tom Dearth and Dave Thompson officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1 – 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton EMS. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com
